Today, I came home crying after my boyfriend dumped me for another girl. My dad told me to come tell him what was wrong. I sat down and let it all out, after which he looked up from his book, into my eyes, and gave me his loving advice: "Just cry about it and move on to another bastard." FML

Don't take it the wrong way but he gave you the right advice: cry, let out ur emotions, and move on. Plus as a dad, every guy that wants go out with u is a bastard in his eyes.

Well OP if you have a track record of picking "exciting guys" that will probably dump you and your dad already knows that, then YDI. Big time. On the other hand relationships can be suck-ish. Sorry about your BF, but it doesn't sound like he's a keeper anyways. Your dad was just giving some healthy advice. Move on. Don't take the bastard part too seriously....after all your dad wasn't like "STFU and let me read in peace".
