You have ten year olds as roomates?
Pot+Spoon= rude awakening
If getting new roommates isn't a possibility, fight fire with fire. Keep only your areas clean. Refuse to speak to them, especially if they ask for help with something. They're not your responsibility, and they're obviously not your friends. Treat them how they treat you. Good luck, OP.
I had something similar once - I had a flatmate who made loads of mess, ate all our food, refused to clean dishes, etc, and whenever we'd confront her about it she'd lock herself in her bedroom. Depending on what your landlord situation is like, you could potentially note down every incident you have, and if it gets really bad, use it to show how bad your flatmates can be.
plot twist... her roommates are actually her children.
they'll probably never grow up
I'd say, "Two can play at this game" (or rather three) but I think you'd lose. If they don't clean, it's because they don't mind living in a mess, and if they ignore you, it's beverage they don't want to talk to you. Looks like you'll have to find some other way to annoy them. Perhaps you should take up the drums... and practice whenever they are sleeping. ;)
The drum idea could backfire rather quickly. Especially if OP lives in an apartment, most apartments have quiet hours. If I did something like that and my neighbors complained we could get evicted. So either way it's a lose/lose for OP. I would suggest sticking it out for as long as you have to and then look for new roommates who aren't such children.
Sorry OP, looks like you are gonna need some new roommates. if that isn't an option try only cleaning your parts or do the hands over ears whenever they want something. Good luck!
Time to find new roomies?
Roommates are only fun when you know each other before living together.
Keywords
Do the same to them whenever they want your side of the rent.
.....Maybe it's time to consider getting new roommates??
