Today, I completely shaved my head as a gesture for my boyfriend's mother, who was suffering from cancer and having a terrible time undergoing chemotherapy. Turns out she doesn't even have cancer, and my boyfriend thought I wouldn't have the guts to do it. FML

Your boyfriend is a douche. Sorry OP.

Wow... If that's how he treats you then he obviously doesn't respect you or his mother by lying about her having such a terrible sickness... Get rid of him, OP.

At least you care enough to do that....

So he's an asshole enough to both joke about cancer and dare you to be nice enough to shave your head in support? You are a saint, and he doesn't deserve you. I sincerely hope you dumped his ass, but not before explaining to him exactly why.

I donated 11 inches of hair in January, but to shave your whole head? Kudos to you, OP. Despite your boyfriend's mom not actually having cancer, I am sure there are other victims who will appreciate it nonetheless.

****** ass wipe. My mother died of cancer and using that as a ploy to make someone else shave their head for amusement purposes says all you need to know about that person's character. It's not good either. Leave him before he causes you any more unnecessary grief.

Bright side: maybe his mother will be touched by the scope of her gesture (regardless of the misguided nature) and fell that much more favorably inclined towards you.

You didn't know your BF mother didn't have cancer? You kind of deserve it because it sounds like you did this before you even meet the woman

I think it's time to get pictures of him sleeping with a little pink bunny, and rent a billboard near his home. I'm sorry OP, that really does suck, but payback is a bitch. Make it hurt.

Your boyfriend is a total jerk but I really admire you OP, you did a wonderful thing :)

Do cancer patients really want others to do that? My Mother's a breast cancer survivor and lost all her hair when she was going through chemotherapy. She wore a wig the whole time and I know for a fact that she would not wish anyone to be bald like her, especially on purpose.

54- I'm guessing that for some cancer victims, it's a touching display of support. I would assume that some victims are embarrassed by having no hair, and to have someone be bald with them may be comforting. PS- Glad your mom survived. :) I lost a friend and Aunt-in-law to cancer last year unfortunately, so it's nice to hear survival stories.

A mom with 7 kids (all boys) shaved their heads when she lost her hair. She was touched.

Thank you.(: She's recovering great after going through hell! Hair loss was indeed traumatic, especially not having eye brows but she rocked the G.I. Jane look very well. However, it's only been 9 months. We shall see. ***Sorry about everyone's loss to cancer. I am so lucky to have my mother still with me!

My cousin, who was around 22 at the time, cut her hair short when my mom started to lose her hair, and my mom thought it was the sweetest thing ever. It's a selfless act to actually shave your head in support of someone, I think.
