Today, I corrected my mom in front of our family while she was ragging on my 12 year old cousin who got a piercing. She said, "You don't understand you don't have kids, but on the other hand you probably never will!" I have Polycystic ovary syndrome, she is right, I probably never will. FML

Today, I told my mom I was thinking of having a baby. She told me it was a huge mistake because children cost a fortune, make you miserable, and if she'd had her chance again she would have gotten her tubes tied when she was 18 and saved herself the grief. Gee, thanks mom. FML

My grandmother was going to gift me a baby outfit for me to get another hint. I’m 25 and can’t conceive because of health issues. I may never have my own kids. She knows. FML

It wasn't until after the conversation ended that I remembered my siblings are all either single like I am, or incapable of having children. You shoulda just replied that "at least you won't turn out to be a mother like her." I mean, ouch, she must've known about your condition, so for her to just so carelessly say that, that's horrible. I mean, you already have to deal with the consequences of this, but that doesn't mean you have to take any crap from her.

I was diagnosed with the same thing just over 4 years ago after losing a fallopian tube to a large cyst. Your mom is a total bitch for saying that. Even if the diagnosis was a long time ago, it still hurts to know that you may never be able to have your own children without spending ludicrous amounts of money for IVF and other fertility treatments.

That was really harsh of your mom to say. I know what you're going through. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 4 years now, and it really hurts to think that I may never be able to have children. I'd like to give props to those who actually know what PCOS is, and are defending it. Those of you who haven't researched it or have no clue what it is shouldn't say anything about the disorder, especially the comment about being obese causes it. That is completely untrue. I mean, Victoria Beckham has it for goodness sake, and I hardly think she is obese at all!
