I have 2 friends with policystic synd., they been treated and now hvae kids (one of them hase two kids already), so DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE! if you want to have a baby, you will, I wish you luck with that from all my heard. (and your mother is a bitch, that's all)
actually it is called pcos and not pos!!!
OMG, I feel so sorry for you. Don't give up hope!
I have that too. It is not an infertility sentence. Birth control pills, when taken regularly and until you are ready to have children, can protect your ovaries from forming cysts. When you are ready, stop taking the pills, give your body about a year to adjust, and see what happens. Many women with this syndrome go on to be mothers.
I know so many people with PCOS have already responded, but I'd just like to say that though I do live with the knowledge that it is likely I will never have children, my cousin Linda gives me hope. She has PCOS but she also has 3 year old triplets that were conceived naturally. It's not a lost cause. Take the pill and stick with it until you're ready.
well at least you arnt a 14 year old who found out. Now is on the pill and still may not be able to have children cause of how sever it is
I'm also someone who suffers with PCOS and unfortunately, I became completely unresponsive to treatment and have had 2 surgeries done to try and alleviate the symptoms. The second surgery was a modern day hysterectomy that has left me unable to have children. It's easy to get put down by the disorder and hard to be positive. Try your best, tell mom to shove it up her ass, it is possible to have children if you have a milder form of the disorder. However PCOS CAN be genetic according to my doctor and women with it who give birth to girls run a good risk of passing the disorder on.
Why the hell is a 14 year old that concerned about their ability to get pregnant? According to my mom no one thinks they're gonna want kids when they're 14.......Well I guess I was right about never wanting them :) .. But seriously, why do you care now?
14 sucks... but I was 12 when I found out I had it. It's different for everyone. Don't be upset you found out early, be glad. It's going to make it easier to have kids since you're treating it now.
PCOS is extremely treatable especially if you catch it early (usually before 30) and as long as you follow treatment options (like diet, medication, and regular visits to your OBGYN) you probably will be able to have kids.
Actualy my wife has PCOS, her doctor had us go to a diabetic specialist (she's not diabetic) her perscriber her glucophage (not sure on spelling) and we now have two beautiful kids. The medicine was the only thing that would make everything normal and it was the only way for us to have children. May want to look into it.
