Today, I corrected someone who spelled "learned" as "learnt" on my favorite forum. Nothing could've prepared me for the torrent of abuse that followed from the non-American members. Now I'm banned for "trolling," and all my 7,000+ posts since 2006 are gone forever. FML

YDI. You remind me of Homer Simpson. "English? Who needs that? I'm never going to England"

The thing thats sad about this is that you were there from 2006 and obviously no one even knew who you were. If they had they would have known you weren't trolling(assuming your 7000+ posts weren't troll posts).

I voted "YDI" . You shouldn't have been banned for "trolling" , but honestly, even if the FML has little context, it just makes me think that maybe just maybe you weren't nice in your correction at all, so of course it makes sense that you would be banned for that. YDI also because, as others pointed out, both spellings are acceptable.

ydi for bein a grammar nazi

You misspelled "favourite".. There is a U in there..

YDI correcting some ones grammar is annoying

*YDI, correcting someone's grammar is annoying. Actually, that still isn't correct, i *think* it should be; *YDI, it's annoying when people correct someone's grammar.

Your own fault for being a grammar nazi.

I say FYL OP. I'm a grammar nazi too but that's not why I agree. I agree because their reaction seems a little extreme. They could have at least warned you or something first rather than jumping to banning you and deleting all your posts!
