Today, I covered a 10-hour shift for a sick coworker. Glad to earn some extra money for the holidays, I went to clock out. I hadn't even clocked in when I first got there at 7 am. FML

They can fix it in the system. I do it all the time.

Just get them to roll you back simple as that I do that for my employees when they forget

Some places allow you to manually change your clock in and clock out times, check with your supervisor.

so, the company has to pay you for time worked even if you don't clock in, tell your manager and go about your day

Eh, shit happens. I work for the city during summers and it happens once in a while. At least you didn't forget to clock out till the next day.

I hope you called your manager/supervisor/staffing team about it. If they do not believe you, there has to be a way to prove that you were indeed at work, whether it be through camera, paperwork, etc.

They should be able to fix that

I'm sure there is something management can do about that. In most places they will just write in the time and initial it.
