oh my. Maybe a little research on the product next time. I've dyed my hair a couple times and even bleached it but never had fall-out! I'd avoid any harsh products for a while. Good luck op!
Hope you used peroxide and not actual bleach!
You're not supposed to leave it for longer than a certain time, usually 30 minutes I think. Also you're not supposed to apply heat to it either. It probably is written on the box of the product or you could have asked someone who used it before. Lots of tutorials on the internet too. I've been bleaching my hair on my own for almost three years now, it never got damaged to the degree of falling off.
you can leave in bleach easily for more then 30 mimutes. and guess what when it hasn't done it's work, you can apply heat to make it work harder.
I suppose it depends on the brand and how strong the product is. I have seen some horrific videos of people who apply heat to hair bleach and loose their hair then on youtube though, that's sorta why I wouldn't try it. In my case, it is best to bleach in two sessions apart a week or so from each other and apply a lot of conditioner on the days in between so it doesn't get papery, if is not as bleached as I want in the first session. But mostly bleaching once is enough for me.
*lose, sorry. not "loose".
ydi because bleaching your hair at home is never a good idea. it's a very strong chemical. there's a reason hairdressers like me have a job :-). sorry op
Bleaching your hair doesn't require a degree just some common sense and a little time reading the directions.
it takes a lot to get a license for cosmetology. its way more than common sense and reading a box. if it was that easy and didn't require knowing th e chemistry of the hair and the chemicals involved there wouldn't have been an issue then would there
Many people do not use common sense, which would include reading directions or doing research. Yes, there is a lot that cosmetologists learn at school, but that doesn't mean that people can't bleach/dye/perm/cut their own hair at home without getting a good result. If that was the case there wouldn't be boxed kits. Some people can't afford the outrageous prices some salons charge.
Also some hairdressers may just lose track of time and leave it for too long, causing the hair to get damaged. At least some of them are quite careless like that in my country but maybe in where OP lives, it requires a stricter education to get a hairdressing licence.
This is why I go to the salon to do that kind of stuff. Sorry OP. Hope it gets better.
Never, ever, bleach your hair at home. Took me 300 dollars to fix what I did to mine, so I feel ya... But damn, that sucks.
You need Jesus.
They have lightening kits to help out with that instead of just using bleach. I just lightened my own hair 4 the first time last night so I could dye it a lighter color. Def wanted to use a pre packaged kit 4 that job.
