Today, I decided to scare my 10 year old sister for fun. I hid behind a door and leapt out, shouting "Boo!" when she walked by. She burst into tears and ran screaming to my mom. My mom thought I'd hit my sister, and was so angry that she punched me in the eye. FML

Your mother really needs to control her anger, and get a general overview of the situation.. If my mom did that to me, i'd freak out.. FYL

Yes, let's solve (non-existent) violence with violence, this sounds like a good plan...

your mom is a ******* dumbass!

To all those screaming "child abuse", it's not that easy. No idea where the OP is from, but in the great state of Florida, you're parents are allowed to use whatever force they deem necessary to bring you "under control" or "guide" you. If they can justify it to the cops ("It was punishment for hitting his sister-" "But I didn't hit her!" "See, now he's lying to a police officer. You see what I deal with?"), then it's perfectly legal for your mother to hit you in the face. Coincidentally, hitting them BACK or pushing them OFF of you as they choke you, is considered domestic violence if you're under the age of 18 and your attacker is your parent. I know this first hand. The system is critically flawed in many places, quite possibly where the OP lives. Don't judge until you know the story, unless you're just as bad as the mother.

Scaring your sister was a dick move, but punched in the face? Seriously? Did your mom grow up in a backalley or something?

Okay, I've scared my sisters more than my share, and yeah, it wasn't nice. Let's talk punishment fitting the crime, though; punching your kid in the face isn't okay.

this is hard to believe, however, i have been in or close to an abusive family and cannot understand the possibility of this happening. if this truly did happen, i feel very bad for you
