You do know it's still a surprise right?
you are a dumbass
heck of a way to test the relationship. Hopefully you two last and it eventually becomes a funny story you can share. Eventually something would have happened to take the new off a car. Someone dings it, a piece of gravel cracks the glass or chips the paint. It's inevitable. Once you get that initial horror over with you can relax because it's now just a great car, instead of a perfect car to be hyper vigilant about. It could have been worse someone could have crashed into you, totaled the car and killed you in the process. He just has a damp car instead. Spray bottle of water and paper towels to rinse any soap residue off surfaces then Shop vac and a box of desiccant and it should be good. Next time give him a gift card for a car wash or detailing. ;)
It doesn't say anywhere that OP didn't have permission to borrow it. To further shame her and declare her actions worse because of your assumptions isn't fair to the OP. It is just as possible he let her borrow it to run errands for the day and to thank him she tried to get the car cleaned before she returned it. We don't know so we can't accuse her of made up offenses. Poor girl is getting piled on bad enough as it is for her good intentions gone wrong.
Usually it's the thought that counts, but that's not the case this time
automatic car washes ruin cars. don't ever use it on a car you care for and especially not a brand new car...
Why do people act like they don't make mistakes? Like for all of you ganging up on OP like are you so perfect that you haven't made some mistake in your life like calm down. Granted it was a bit empty-minded it was a simple mistake, and I'm pretty sure OP feels bad enough about it. Depending on the automatic car wash, isn't there somebody who controls it? Maybe OP got it to stop in time. Who knows?
they are ganging up because, unless someone asks you directly, you dont just do something to their car, no matter how good the intention. A mans car is basically sacred to most men who like cars. dont touch it, dont drive it, dont even look at it wrong. and in addition its likely the persons only mode of transport, which means freedom and transport too and from work. being without your car is a really shitty situation if you live anywhere with poor public transport, and the benefit of a clean car does not offset the cost if they crash or otherwise wreck the car (see OP). Dont mess with stuff that is not yours without asking. this goes double for concert tshirts, dont be cute and make them into a quilt for him/her without asking, yes its cute, but you just wrecked all their memories by not asking first.
A sunroof is just a window in your roof. A moon roof is the kind that opens
Actually sometimes they both open. A moon roof is a glass panel that lets light in even when closed
Just don't be surprised when he breaks up with you. F his L for dating you in the first place. Poor car.

How do you not realize that beforehand? That's a nice gesture and all, but you should've been more careful in double-checking.
At least you were trying to do something nice. Good luck explaining it to him! F his L.
