Today, I decided to take a nap while listening to my iPod, on the lowest volume possible. My girlfriend woke me up by turning the volume all the way up. I still can't hear out of both ears. FML

The music would clip before before getting loud enough to cause immediate damage. It would have to put out 120+ dBSPL to cause immediate harm. To put that into perspective, that's about as loud as pressing your ear against an ambulance siren, about 32 times as loud as a typical vacuum cleaner.

next time don't wear earphones?? I'm assuming you dis because the speaker on the iPod doesn't cause deafness... and YDI just because you seem to have lost your common sense and humor. iPod

Nice made up FML! The iPod touch is the device that lets you go to the highest volume possible with earphones. I have one and I can stay hours at the maximum volume and look! I'm not deaf!

**** your girlfriend till you can hear her screams !

iPods do not go up that loud. I use Bose in-ear earphones, and before putting anything on my iPod, I use iTunes to raise the volume as high as it goes. I also keep the volume on my iPod at the max. I listen to my iPod whenever I'm out, and my hearing is better than most people I know.

Maybe he had his ipod hacked? You can do that to go past the built in safety for the volume limit.

unless it's a TOuch, YDI for not putting it on hold.
