Today, I decided to tell my family, including my husband, that I'm pregnant. Their reaction was basically a "meh" before returning to watching the World Cup. FML

Probably not the best timing.

Looks like your husband scored the first goal.

Your husband will reply to your news after the World Cup is over xD

I know your pain. Right before the last Super Bowl, I fell and twisted my knee. My dad didn't take me to he hospital until after the game. It turned out that I had torn ligaments and some bone fragments were floating around in my knee.

Sports fans can be a bit nuts. I'm a hockey fan instead of a footie fan, but I would want someone to wait for the commercial (or better yet, intermission) to give me momentous news, especially during the Stanley Cup playoffs. On a brighter note, at least you found out you were pregnant during the World Cup rather than were due to give birth. I'm waiting for the FMLs to come out from women whose families were too busy watching the game to get their relative to the hospital.

Not to be judgemental, but to me it seems like you should have told your husband before everyone else in your family. Congrats on the pregnancy though.

So wait you decided that instead of at a family meal, while you were sitting and chatting, alone with your husband, out running errands/in the car with your husband, on the phone with a family member, or inviting everyone over specifically for this purpose, you decided to tell everyone while they were busy watching a program they were probably planning (at least a few days in advance, maybe even weeks) to watch?

YDI for interrupting the World Cup

I feel so sorry for you! Especially from your husband, that's just rude! Bringing a new life into this world is soo much more important that a game. What if your baby is the reason that they win 20 years in the future???
