Today, I drove 12 hours with 6 screaming little girls. They were arguing about things that should've been in the Lego movie. They watched it 4 times. FML

I actually watched it for the first time yesterday... I thought it was kinda dumb.

I hope you didn't write this while you were driving!

We just did 14 hours. My little brother and sister screamed the whole ride too. I can't imagine 6.

I have a couple screwdrivers you could use as earplugs. Seriously, that kind of torture is unconstitutional.

Next time you should tell them about the Quiet Game. I used to play this with my girls when they were little. Whoever is the quietest in the car for the longest gets first pick from our Happy Box at home (which may contain pretty hair clips, pencils or even lollies etc). It's GREAT incentive to be quiet in the car. Worked for me till mine were teenagers!! Also games like the number plate game where you see plates and make up phrases using the same letters, and older games like Eye Spy. Car time is also an excellent time to give kids talks that they normally won't sit still for. It's great to have a CAPTIVE audience! :D

I am sorry for you, OP, something like this is definitely some kind of torture. I don't have kids, but I have a niece which I occasionally drive around, sometimes along with some of her friends. Fortunately I don´t have a DVD player in my car and I made it clear that, although I have a nice repertoire of children songs by now which I use to sing with my niece, in my car children songs are not allowed. The kids seem to like this rule, since usually they demand to hear "the loud music" right after climbing into my car and usually spend most of the time headbanging happily to Clawfinger, Volbeat, Disturbed and the like. And for some reason Blind Guardian is particularly popular, don´t ask me why. (Of course I would never play the music as loud as I would when driving alone, for those who might worry. I would never harm my niece with loud noise!)
