This is the downside of the art world. Art is expression-even the lazy man's art. So it's hard to say that it is not art. I don't care for it at all, but some do. Give me a piece that shows the artist's soul, passion, and hard work any day. This squiggle line/blank canvas/Andy Warhol crap-no thank you.

Hey, OP here. I just thought that you guys might be interested in knowing that the contest was actually rigged. One of the judges and the winner were in cahoots, and they halved the prize money. They were found out and had to return the money. I still wasn't ranked high enough to win though, but at least now I lost to someone who submitted actual art.

I understand the pain, the last competition I joined I was beaten by a jagged and tilted 2 foot tall 'statue' of a crumpled woman that was spray painted black. I submitted two torso's that I sculpted and carved by hand, and they were displayed by the bathroom away from the rest of the art pieces
