almost all of these comments that refer to irony are incorrect. when something happens and the cause or subject of it is the opposite of the intention, that's not irony. that's an unlikely coincidence. irony is when something is interpreted as the opposite of its intention. it refers to a statement's meaning being reversed when taken out of context, not an event that's humorously unlikely. so yes, it was a coincidence, but it wasn't ironic. say the subject of the next lecture was "rush through life". if you saw that written somewhere and thought that the lecture was going to be about rushing as fast through life as possible and you take that as advice, that would be ironic. rushing on the way to a lecture about not rushing is not ironic.
I love irony! xD
You know if you use your knee as an example and tell the class what you learned from it and the correlations to Buddhist philosophy, you'd probably get an A.
Sweet irony.

Ha ha! Love the Irony. Next time try practice what you preach. ;-)
yeah. perfect practical example for your class. "see what happens when you rush through life? fell down a flight of stairs and stitches on the knee."
