Today, I figured out that a $40 phone case does not protect your $500 phone from a five year-old throwing it off a fourth story balcony. FML

relax thats the real cost of the phone. the reason for 2 year contracts is because you get a big discount on the phone, called a subsidy. unless he is eligable for an upgrade, to replace it could br 500. iphone 3gs was 300 with contract, 550 without. so stfu you dont know what your talking about. 500 is pretty standard for a phone not in the us becuase of EU restrictions, they dont get a discount on phones.

It's stupid to spend that much on a phone anyway.. a $10-20 phone would work just as good for talking/texting as a damned $500..

Maybe they want their phone to have other functionalities too? Like/web/email/apps? Who are you to tell them what you should spend their money on? Shut the **** up and get off your high horse. Just because YOU can't afford a nice phone, and are happy with a shitty and extremely outdated piece of technology, doesn't mean that everyone should be.

what do none of you use metro? **** all that contract shit sure they're cheap phones and service but it works which is all you really need, I think people forget what a phone was original used for.

add the phone on your home owners policy, it's about 20 dollars with no deductable, and covers up to 500 bucks
