Today, I figured out that a $40 phone case does not protect your $500 phone from a five year-old throwing it off a fourth story balcony. FML

Sell the kid, get a new phone. Problem solved.

YDI for throwing a five year old of a four story balcony.

That is bad news... I have my phone stuck together with superglue and scotch tape but I'm pretty sure it would have a hard time falling 4 stories. At least it didn't hit you while you were walking down there (if you left your phone up there while you were out that is)

The kid would have been going off the balcony if it was my phone. Worthless shit.

FYL for that happening, but YDI for leaving it where a 5 year old can get to it...just take his most favorite breakable thing and toss it off that very same balcony. then tell him that things that are important to people or expensive things shouldn't be thrown off balconies. simple as that

$500 for a phone is normal.. But $40 for the case?? You got ripped off dude. If you buy online, you'll get it around $20, even those good brands.

careful, plex. all the nuts are gonna come out the woodwork telling you that you should go to jail for abusing your kids. because, ya know, what your describing is clearly the same thing as beating them to within an inch of their life. Clearly. you should be ashamed of yourself. Tsk Tsk.

It's not that hard to keep something out of reach of a 5 year old, they're pretty short.

bragging much? uhmmm well you could just say my $40 dollar phone case did not protect my phone when.............. instead of bragging and saying you have a $500 phone who the f*ck cares that you have a $500 dollar phone so bye

Oh poo. Did mommy and daddy not get you the phone you wanted for Christmas due to lack of funds? Perhaps the OP mentioned that its $500 because its a bigger deal to break a phone of that worth than an $80 dollar phone you can easily replace. Once you grow up and get a job you'll understand what its like to spend your own money on something expensive.
