SheriffBart: I think your statements are an insult to everyone who went to college to further their knowledge and abilities to function in a society that deems one's worthiness of skill through the measurement of education! I can sympathize with that person who went to law school only to have to settle for a low paying job which won't even begin to cover the repayment of college loans. I did not go to law school; but, have graduated from college, and I can't find a job to save my life. Do I think I am entitled to a decent job? The answer is a monumental HELL YES! I put in countless hours of writing papers, studying, completing assignments, and taking exams; only to wind up getting very sick at the end of every semester due to not enough rest and too stress. I graduated with honors and am a presidential scholar! I worked my butt off and I am looking for my due reward...a job! I went to school so that I could provide a decent life for my son; yet, now I had to move back home and can't afford to get my car fixed because I can't find a decent job. The only job I was hired for is a part-time job that does not even begin to cover my expenses. It is not fair. It is ingrained in us that in order to get ahead in life one must go to college and get a degree. I played by the rules, never realizing how unbalanced these rules truly are.
i feel for you...times are harsh and sad.. good luck man
That really sucks. But good for you for being willing to do whatever it takes to find an income. In this economy I'm surprised by how many people think they are "too good" to apply for a job, and would rather just take unemployment and not even look for a job because its "beneath them". I believe education always pays off in the long run, you'll make a better lawyer in the future by getting through times like this and knowing what its like to work at the bottom.
Don't work for wal-mart. I work for wal-mart. Trust me, you don't want to work there. lol
Ouch. I don't want to hear this, you're killing my dream.
Grow up. Have you noticed the economy....stop bitching and be lucky you have a good job. Walmart pays well too. I know because I worked there for 3 years.
Wal Mart pays as well as BEING A LAWYER? Are you retarded? And it's not always about pay. I went to school for five years to become a teacher because it's what I wanted to do. I taught for two years and was excellent at it. And then I got let go because of budget cuts and being the teacher with the least seniority, while teachers who everyone SUCK get to keep their jobs just because they've been doing them longer. Yes, the economy sucks, but it's not something to shrug off. The economy is ******* LIVES left and right.
wow so many negative comments. people - this is fmylife.com... 99.9% (if not 100%) of the stories on here about trivial day to day annoyances. i dont think ive ever seen anyone post a comment that says "i have cancer and one month to live. FML." or "i am blind. FML." - these people are the only people who have a 'real' right to complain. but this website isnt aimed at that. this website is for trivial problems. if you have a problem with people complaining about small things, perhaps you should just stay away from the site altogether rather than attacking everyone here who is just up for a bit of lighthearted venting and entertainment.
WTF.....I was planning to go to law school but eff that....wow
here's an idea: become a lawyer!?
then why the hell r u going to friggin walmart?!

Yes, how DARE the OP expect a fair return on her investment in law school.
