Today, I finally convinced my son to use the potty. Later, he saw a show on TV about a toilet monster. Now he's too scared to even step foot into the bathroom. Here's to another few months of diaper changes. FML

how old is he? if he is young enough to start potty training then he probably shouldn't be watching that. fyl though. just tell him there is no such thing. maybe watch him the whole time? that would help me. hah

lmao have fun with that. 

Tell him that it's a good monster that eats poop and we all have one so we don't get sick!

You could probably sue the TV channel for that. Here in the UK some woman had a Marmite advert (involving a giant blob of Marmite) banned from TV because it 'gave her 2-year-old nightmares'.

That's got to be the dumbest thing I have ever read. If a child gets scared watching something, it's not the network's fault. If the child were watching a channel that they shouldn't have been watching, then it's the parent's fault. You can't have something banned just because it scared your child.

I feel for you, been there and doing that. Slay the toilet monster with toilet cleaner and tell him that why the toilet is kept clean, it will stay away. Just a suggestion, but make it fun and they want to do it and they get over their fears at the same time

#34's suggestion is great. it teaches the kid how to stand up to his fears.

yeah potty training sucks one of the kids at the daycare I work out fell in once so he's afraid to go now we told him how his poop wanted to go with the other poop and swim with it's friends in the potty.

Sometimes turning the kid around on the potty gives him something to hold onto for balance.

That's why you monitor what your kid's watching on TV. You don't just plop them down in front of it and hope for the best.

Your kid's young enough that he's not potty trained and you can't be bothered to pay attention to what he watches on tv? Nice parent.
