Today, I finally got everything in order to ask out the girl of my dreams. I bought her a gold necklace, engraved with our names, and with the date on the back. Everything was going great until she got sick and had to go home. Now I'm stuck with this necklace with the wrong date. FML

Today, it was my girlfriend's birthday, so I decided to take her to a fancy restaurant and give her an expensive $400 necklace that I had bought. Being traditional, I asked the waiter to arrange it nicely on the tray when he came with our dessert. Neither he nor the necklace ever showed up. FML

Today, I lost the beautiful necklace my boyfriend gave me for Valentine's day. I looked everywhere, and couldn't find it. My sister held the bag while I dug through the stinking trash, then after I cleaned everything up, took it out of her pocket and said she was pretending it was lost. FML

Pool that necklace. For like... a year. Then if you are still together, maybe it won't scare her away. Judging from what you wrote its the first date... you would freak her out with a gift like that on first date. Freak her straight out of your life forever.

I would be freaked out if some guy handed an ingraved gold necklace to me on the first date. so an advise for you, if you want a shot in hell, dont give her the necklace. And if you have to give her something, give her flowers.

Never a good idea to give a girl something expensive for a first date. Why even give her something just to ask her out? That's kind begging to get used, if you know what I mean. She'd probably know you'll buy her stuff and use that to her advantage. Sadly, there are people in the world who do that... YDI

first of all. ask her out, and if she says yes THEN buy the engraved necklace idiot!!! what if she said no? your stuck with a necklace that constantly reminds you of how you got denied. if she says yes because you got her the necklace then she's a gold digger. shell say without the necklace if she likes you(probably unless she's just giving you a chance or feels bad for you)
