Today, I finally got the courage to ask out the guy I've liked for a long time. He's a cashier at a grocery store. It was about 1am and I was his last customer, everything seemed just right. Just when I was about to ask him to the movies, a drunk girl stumbles in and asks him out. He said yes. FML

the last place i expect something like this to happen is in India. no i'm not kidding, cuz my ex-gf is indian. i cant imagine some indian girl drunk and stumbling to ask a sober guy out who'd say yes. (assuming, of course, they're all indian)

Wtf is wrong with some of you people? "cashier are losers, don't date them" - so a young person has a shitty job? Man, that's really odd. I know I started my first job making 6 figures. Speaking of which, you can't control who you like, it's just how you feel. All of you people saying to "look higher" I bet you're all dating CEO's of major companies, huh? Oh wait, no you're probably not. You're just a little bit higher up the social pecking order and someone higher up could say the same thing to you. "wtf are you doing hanging around a grocery store at 1am? creeper" - because she was trying to get a semi intimate moment with this guy. She wasn't just "hanging" around. She had a plan. "blah blah low standards blah" - if you "choose" the people you like based on things like their title or income, you're a future divorce waiting to happen. "HE has low standards for saying yes to a drunk girl" - maybe he's lonely and she's something to explore. maybe the OP over exaggerated the girl's behavior because she swooped in and stole the guy. There are plenty of reasons for him to say yes without making him a horrible person. To summarize, I also enjoy quickly judging people and condemning them to my judgment.
