Today, I finally had enough money to buy my girlfriend an engagement ring, which I was going to pick up after work. On my way to work, I slid on the ice and crashed into a parked vehicle. The damage to my car is almost twice the amount of the ring. FML

Where are people getting the idea he was WALKING? Damage to HIS vehicle means he was DRIVING.

You should sue Mother Nature for making ice... Worst part is you would most likely win. =

i live where it snows heavily every fall/winter, and there's always ice. no matter how good a driver you are, accidents can happen.

maybe you arent suppose to marry her. just sayin =[/

If you start a cute money-raising blog or something, I'm sure you could raise the $$ again in no time, with an adorable story like that!

well thats why you should always go full comp but that sounds like a cheap ring! you'd have to do some damage to be twice the price of 2 month's salary

next time get her a nicer ring.

If you have insurance it shouldn't matter how much the damage was...

have decide between love or car. that sucks

YDI for not being properly insured. If you had collision coverage, all you'd be out is the deductible. I've seen so many people pay off the note, strip their policy to state minimum immediately, and then have an incident that WOULD have been covered. Stupidity at its finest.
