Today, thanks to traveling restrictions being lifted, I was finally able to go visit the guy I've been chatting with online for the past year. When we met it was like a TV show, well more like three shows: Catfish, Hoarders and My 600lbs life. Turns out he had his neighbor video chat me all along. FML

Today, I met the guy I've been talking to online for two years in real life. He tried to convince me to have his children because they would be average height. He's a midget and I'm 6'2". This is the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to me. FML

Today, I hung out with some old friends for the first time since losing about 50 pounds, going from clinically obese to a healthy weight. I even bought a cute new dress for the occasion to show off my new body. No one noticed the change. FML

Today, I met a guy online. We talked all night long and hit it off amazingly. He told me he'd never felt that way about anyone else, and I agreed. He sent me a picture and he was gorgeous. I sent him one after he assured me he didn't care what I looked like. I haven't heard from him since. FML

I ended up getting lucky and running into something really good! I was too shy to approach attractive guys in "real life"...

same thing happened to me @nerds. i'd been frequenting a chat and my current boyfriend showed up. he was the only one who didnt go "OMG GIRL" to me, so we started talking outside the chat. i come to find out we had a lot in common and he was a very sweet guy. we finally started video chatting on skype, and i talked to his parents and his friends. we've been together for almost 2 years now and are very happy together :) dating someone online isnt much different than dating someone in person, if you do it right. even in person, people can lie about who they are, what they do, and even how old they are sometimes. when i met my boyfriend in person for the first time, we were at my best friend's house with his two brothers who would do anything for me. anyway, sorry to hear that, OP, but you should always play it smart when meeting people online.
