I agree it's a stupid move to drop out of college for this, it really is, you SHOULD have a back up. It's not a very success FIL industry to get into. They could have done along side college and such. This is not a dead end dream. It's very very hard to achieve, but it's not a dead end dream. They are just the idiot for not keeping up with the back up, and selling their music to friends. send some demos to a few radio and production companies, play live gig's, do merchandise. If your friends wanted to help they would spread the word, not exploit your work by sharing it on free websites knowing you are trying to get somewhere. ALWAYS HAVE A BACK UP. You can't live on this.
Should've stayed in college and worked on music in your spare time.
