Today, I finally stood up to the guy who's been bullying me for the last 2 years. Even though he's been caught in the act several times, he never gets punished, so I figured I'd get away with gut-punching him. Nope. An hour later, I was suspended from school. FML

You may have gotten suspended, but he now know what you can and will do. Don't see this entirely as a problem, as it may have been your solution.

As a person who was bullied throughout highschool I know how you feel OP. I never had the courage to stand up to my bully so, good on you. And getting suspended isn't the worst thing atleast you're away from him for awhile!

Why I personally don't condone violence, I'm glad you stood up to him. Sucks that you got suspended. But, no one should have to put up with abuse.

I think just for the fact that you got suspended I might throw in a few more whacks at the guy. What a jerk. I'm sorry you had to go through that, not cool. Hope after all of this the bullying stops. If not, take your argument to the principal, explain every single detail even if you already have before, and tell them (make sure your parents are backing you up btw) if the bully doesn't get punished the next time you're going to take it to the hierarchy so that something will be done about this. Because I doubt if it's gone on for 2 years you're the only one being bullied and that needs to be dealt with.

Same kind of thing happened to me in middle school, although nobody got suspended. I had this bully who actually gut-punched me after I pushed him to get him away from me and we both got the same punishment: detention. His for a punch in the stomach, mine for a little push. I'll never understand why some of the things bullies do are overlooked and you defend yourself once and get punished for it. It's unfair that you got suspended. That really sucks, OP.
