Today, I finished a website that I have been working on for ages for a friend. He tried to repay me by offering to teach me to play table tennis. FML

YDI for not setting terms before starting the project. How does it feel to be used?

Getting table tennis advice from a pro is priceless...

Never, ever work for friends. Disagreements can cost friendships. Simply offer you help as a friend, but don't expect anything in return.

a little info on whether youd agreed on payment earlier or not is kinda necessary here. Your lack of forethought into this fml suggests a trend. If so, ydi

He must be really good at table tennis. lol

There's a few conclusions I could come up with,The first being you never established that he was going to pay you anything, and he was saying it in a friendly manner,he will teach you how to play table tennis! YDI on that count But... The second is that you established he would repay, but not with what.In this case I can imagine you assumed money, but he's not a very good friend and took advantage of you.(Does anyone rem the one where the old lady payed the guy with "anything from her goodiebag",essentially the guy got payed with a toy car for cleaning her attic.)If this is the case FYL.

Should have discussed this on the front end. YDI.

If he's really your friend then why would you charge him? Unless you paid to make the website, that sh*ts expensive

Table tennis is a great game. More importantly, you shouldn't expect anything in return if you don't discuss it in the beginning. FYL + YDI

Show him the code and tell him to figure it out.
