Today, I flew 8 hours to visit my boyfriend. When I arrived at the airport, and he started taking long to show up, I checked my email to see the info. I hit the junk mail by accident and found his last 10 emails in there. He had broken up with me a week ago. FML

YDI for not configuring your junkmail filters. Why would you take such a long trip, and expect him to meet you at the airport after not hearing back from him in a week? Normal people confirm these arrangements a day or two prior to flight.

If you and your boyfriend keep in contact through e-mail, why did his e-mail suddenly start being delivered to your junk folder, and why did you not question the fact he hadn't e-mailed in a week? Why didn't you try and get in contact at some point in the week running up to you travelling eight hours to go see him to make sure he was still coming to pick you up and in fact wasn't in the hospital or dead, since he'd not contacted you in a WEEK? Fake?

you'd be surprised with email- there are people I email multiple times a day whose emails sometimes just start going to junkmail (sometimes I then get their later ones, and wonder why I'm missing something). I thought a good friend was ignoring me 'cuz his emails started going there. I also missed a job interview cuz the email went there after I'd gotten 7 from there. It happens.

But surely she must have questioned the fact that her boyfriend didn't e-mail her once in the week running up to her travelling to visit him. And why wouldn't she make sure he knew when to pick her up? Most people would do that before leaving for the airport, or at most a day or two before. Not an entire week before, and then not bother even after not hearing from the boyfriend for seven days. Gah, it's just an FML, I'm overthinking this :P

Why didn't you confirm the details with him...? You didn't talk to him for 1 week ago and you suspected nothing was wrong? What the hell. Unless this was some kind of surprise.. Who knows. And who cares, anyway?

Okay so uh, you "didn't" hear from him in a week, yet you still went? For all you know, he could have been severely injured, or homeless, or some other sort of serious thing; what makes you think it's still gonna be okay to just hop on over? Unless you were going to surprise him, but it seems awful rude to me to just invite yourself over.
