Today, I followed my neighbor's advice and sprayed Sprite on my Christmas tree because it will "make it live longer." I just came downstairs to find my Christmas tree covered in ants. FML

I believe the sprite is supposed to go in the water, not on the tree. I don't know if it works but I've heard that people do that

Part of me wonders if your neighbor meant club soda, not sprite. Either way, I don't know why spraying it -on- the tree would do anything.

The only way to make a tree to last longer is to clear coat it. Watch mythbusters.

You put sprite and water in the bottom of the tree to give it extra nutrients etc... Your neighbor was either messing with you to see if you'd actually do it... or was confused and misunderstood what the purpose of the sprite is... (I'm guessing they were messing with you though lol)

Maybe you should spray his cars paint job with I cheat on my partner with brake fluid. That will give his car a lift

Um... What? I... Huh? Translation please.

Do they sell the new brand of "I Cheat On My Partner With Brake Fluid" paint at Lowe's?

I heard you were supposed to add the Sprite to the water.

I have been using either sugar water or sprite to water my Christmas tree since I was a kid. Don't spray the tree, water the tree with sprite.

Omg... all over the tree?! You didn't think to Google it first to see what to actually do? Smh, you deserved this. I'm sorry OP, but you never believe what someone tells you, without checking it first. Maybe it's time to wait for a hot day and throw Bologna on his car in several random spots.

I prefer the fake prelit trees. Some are very realistic and have little pine cones on the branches. Real ones constantly shed the needles.

YDI. That was a stupid thing to fall for.
