Today, I found my daughter's fanfiction account. I need a new pair of eyes, or brain bleach, or both. FML

You might want to talk to your kid op, that stuff can get pretty graphic. Unless you believe she's old enough. Then ydi if she is.

Well, what fan fiction is she writing? What is it based off of?

My mum found my fanfiction account a few years ago... I know you probably feel ashamed or disgusted. I don't recommend you confronting her about it. It'll make the whole situation a ton worse and will most likely be very humiliating for her. It won't stop her from writing or reading - she'll just get more secretive and better at hiding it.

Personally I have a page that I have posted fanfiction on. It helped me become a good writer with some bases although I've never personally wrote a smutty fic I have read quite a few, none of them were really good. And though I'm still young I don't want my parents finding my account.

I've read some really excellent fanfiction that has sexual situations, but it was mostly about a relationship that includes all the ups and downs a real relationship might face. One in particular was just.. beautiful. I haven't read anything else that beautiful since. The adult stuff doesn't get to me since I'm asexual and also nearly 30, but that story was breathtaking. That author quit writing though, because her boyfriend didn't like it - it was the most heartbreaking thing I've seen happen with a talented author like that.

My reaction would be dependent on her age. Even though I've read some pretty graphic fanfic, it's usually very creative. Let her embrace her creativity, but responsibly (:

lol we need a follow up! What were the stories about?

I can't vote on this one. Your life doesn't suck because of this and you didn't deserve it. I know it may seem inappropriate but I started my fanfiction when I was 13 and it was the best thing I ever did. It got me started in my writing and I've gotten lots of attention on my stories. It's sexual but it's good for starting up those creative juices and some day she may become some kind of novelist.

My thoughts exactly. I know when I started writing, it was really bad, and reading it now, I want to destroy my eyes, but it's part of learning and developing. While OP doesn't agree with what his daughter is doing from the stories (I suppose), he needs to acknowledge that she's learning and getting involved with her fandoms.
