Today, I found out my blood type is B. My parents are type A and type O. It's not genetically possible to be blood type B if your parents are A and O. This means I am either an adoptee, a mutant, or an illegitimate child. FML

Today, I found out the truth about my and my siblings adoptions and why I have no contact with any extended family. Turns out our parents are half-siblings, who decided to adopt rather than risk any genetic anomalies. Their families didn’t approve of the relationship so they moved us far away. FML

Today, I’ve suffered my whole life with a bunch of genetic conditions and I found out why at my dad's funeral. A bunch of relatives from America attended and one of them secretly told me my parents emigrated to England under a cloud of shame because they were brother and sister. I’m inbred. FML

Today, I found out that I was not adopted and in fact my parents are my biological parents. How did I find out? Over dinner. How long have I been believing I was adopted? 22 years. Why did I start believing I was adopted? My siblings thought it would be a funny joke. My mom played along. FML

Today, I found out my parents only got pregnant with me because they were desperate for a bone marrow match for my brother, who ended up dying before I was born, and who I had no idea existed. What’s even more messed up is that they gave me his name. FML

Today, out of my mom, dad, and my siblings, I was the only one selected for a “random” extra check at the airport. My parents are English and my siblings were adopted from France and Scotland, and are all white. My bio parents were Pakistani, and I'm nutbrown and I was the only “random” search. FML

Today, I got ancestry DNA tests for my parents and myself. The DNA testing company informed me that I'm a 50% match for my mother but I share no DNA with my father. Apparently, both my parents forgot that they used a sperm donor. This insignificant detail has slipped their minds for 35 years. FML

Wait a second. They same for your story goes for me but I am my parents legitimate child because I look exactly like my mom and have some of they same traits of my dad. I'm real, so its possible that you are legitimate like me and just somehow got B blood.

Hey # 197: I'm sure that case was extremely rare. The more LIKELY options are: a mistake in blood typing or the mother having extramarital sex. Statistically, those two are way more likely than a random mutation or other rare condition. Your best bet is to TALK TO YOUR PARENTS to get answers and if they don't have any, talk to a certified geneticist or someone who knows more about genotyping and blood types than random people on the internet.

It's OK... I'm a mutant too. Both my parents are left-handed and I'm right handed. That's also genetically impossible... But I look just like my father, so there's no way I'm adopted or a bastard child. Ha. Cheer up! :)

Well it might just be a fluke of nature. It's not really possible but there are exceptions to every rule. =D Also, it's possible your parents' blood types are wrong, but that's a bit of a stretch. Good luck. And LOL at #35.
