Today, I found out my class was attempting to raise money for me through a bake sale because some girl spread a false rumor that I was raped and that my father was going to disown me. The whole school believes it and my biology teacher took me aside and asked if I needed someone to confide in. FML

Today, I had to attend a meeting with my parents, my teacher, and my bully and his parents. When we started, my bully "broke down" and "tearfully" told the teacher that I was the one bullying him, and that he was getting blamed to cover it all up. They believed him. FML

Yes, and in many other countries, families will disown their daughters who have been raped...even if they're very young. Some women have been given the death penalty just for trying to sue the jerks who raped them.

This is NOT an FML. Sure, it sucks that you have SO MUCH SUPPORT from your community. What a shitty deal! I wouldn't be able to handle that, I'd just jump off a bridge and save myself the torture. Seriously. Yeah, it's awkward, but all in all it really goes to show that the people around you are caring and supportive, so that if you're ever in a bind like that you'll know you'll have a strong backing. This is more like FYFather'sL. He's the one who's getting dumped on. (see #192/193). So suck it up, clear it up, and stop freaking out over everything that makes you feel slightly awkward. YDI if this is how you react to the knowledge that you'll be supported no matter what by your friends and community. Oh, and the girl who made it up? She's a freak :|

I got an idea... How about you stand up and give a speech? It would be something like "Thanks to everyone for cooperating in this bakesale. *insert teachers' and friends' names here*. However, it saddens me to say that the information you received is wrong... I did not get raped and my dad is not going to disown me. This was just an awful rumor, and I don't know who made it. Getting raped is not something to joke about. That's why the money is going to go straight for UNICEF. Thanks to everyone and have a good day." This will be followed by speculations of who started the rumor and will eventually lead to the culprit's confession. Good luck though.

Ug something similar happened to me like that in high school! A "friend" of mine told my teachers I was pregnant and they all started approaching me saying stuff like "if there is anything you need let me know." And I was totally confused till finally another one of my friends told me what happened. I went to each teacher and said "I don't know what you have heard but I am NOT pregnant." Of course they were all mortified and I was pretty peeved...
