Oh my god.
Thats horrifying!! And really scary!! Is the dog okay?
Have you given any thought to locking your guns up?
1. Why would you have weapons in a home where a person with mental problems lives? 2. Quebec and guns....... I want to believe you. But hey....
I… I don't think a simple medication regimen is going to help her as much as we'd all like. When it's that bad, I'd imagine it just makes her tolerable to be around. At least your pooch didn't suffer.
Get out. Your mom needs help, serious help. That poor dog.
This is horrible. Poor OP. Poor dog. I can't help but wonder how old the OP is, and if they and their mother are the only ones in the house. If they're a teenager, or there's a second adult in charge, whether or not guns were in the house wouldn't be up to the OP, and they likely wouldn't be in charge of their mother's care when her mental state was compromised. Even if OP is an adult though, there is no way anyone should be clicking "ydi". Being the caretaker/guard of a severely ill person is no picnic, and as someone else said, you don't get a warning light for "no medication taken today!" with the diagnosis. The goal of most people with a mental illness is to live as normal a life as possible - so there's a fine line to walk between making sure they get the appropriate treatment, and nannying them so constantly that they rebel.
I'm sorry about the situation and your poor dog... I hope your mom gets the medical help she needs and gets better..
Get your mom help and keep the dog at a relatives for a while

Your mom needs some serious help, like I can't even believe that happened. That poor dog... Maybe get her to a doctor before something like this happens again...
This is one of my most horrifying things I've ever read. I'm so sorry.
