Today, I found out my mom recently stopped taking her medication. I came home to find she'd shot my dog because she thought he was possessed by the devil. FML

Today, my mom was in a really bad mood, so I stayed in my room to avoid her. It didn't take long before she barged in and started bitching about my dog, who'd pissed her off by acting too happy. Yes, she's actually that insane, and I have to deal with it on a daily basis. FML

Today, while I took my dog out, my mother began to cook, took a Xanax, locked the doors, and passed out. When I managed to get in, I called the paramedics because she was in the smoke for at least an hour. When she became conscious, she blamed me for everything. FML

Yeah, okay, she needs to be in a mental ward. I am 100% serious- she needs to be in a institution that can watch her around the clock and make sure she is taking her meds. If her illness is this severe, she needs to be where she will be monitored- she could have just as easily shot you OP. I can get you might not want to because she's your mother and you love her, but once a parent becomes a hazard to a child's life, they need outside help. You have obviously had the "you need to take your medication" talk before and she didn't listen. At this point she is a threat to your safety, as well as the safety of anyone around her. I am sorry that she shot your dog- I advise you make a choice to prevent a repeat at a higher cost.
