That wouldn't have happened if your dog had a gun as well. Seriously though if you knew your mom has mental issues why do you keep a gun in the house??

I hope you got your mum admitted into the hospital straight away. not only is she a danger to her self ,but shes also a danger to everyone esle.I'm so sorry to hear about your dog that is terrible that happened :/ when you mum gets out of the mental ward ,keep a very close eye on her and keep track of her mediction .even if it means you have to keep it on you ,and give it her yourself.

Wow, OP, that's literally the most horrible thing. She needs more medication and another kind of help as well.

First thing you need to do is get any guns out of the house. This time it was the dog, but next time it could be a neighbour or even you. Mental illness needs to be taken seriously. If you can, make sure she isn't ever left alone. Watch her taking her medication. Report this incident to a healthcare professional and let them advise you what to do. If you can't handle the responsibility then you need to seriously consider having her placed in a group home where all of her needs will be taken care of.
