Today, I found out nobody in my family wants to come to my college graduation. I spent 4 years and $60,000 to be the first person in my family to go to college, and nobody wants to see me graduate because the 4 hour ceremony is too long. FML

You didn't spend 60k on the ceremony... you spent it on the education you got, and the diploma.

Guess you get a free ticket to not go to one of their weddings, funerals, etc...!

don't blame them. i didn't even want to go to my own hs graduation. it was sooo boring. i can only imagine how my college ceremony would be. as long as they are proud of you, does it really matter.

My family pulled that shit too, but they didn't want to make the drive. Lazy bums. Someone once told me this is one of the things that go into the "considerations when choosing a nursing home" pile.

If they can't take 4 hours out of their lives to watch your achievement properly I don't think they actually care... FYL.

aw im sorry! thats really messed up! i say try to forget how rude your family is being and invite friends and also, you know what you have accomplished and you should be so proud of yourself! congrats and hopefully you enjoy your graduation despite your mean family.

That's a sad thing. But congratulations on going to college!

Wonder what Cosby would say? Oh, and go with #10!

I side with your family. The ceremony is 4 hours but your role in it is what, 30 seconds? Not worth it IMO, no offense to you.
