Hahaha
Yea this happens more often than you would think. Even if the females do longer shifts males can get a higher pay.
Just 15%. You're doing better than a lot of other women in the UK.
hmm i see a girl is going to be rich because she sued her boss for discrimination at work ;) 2% plz is my fees XD
I hate gender based discrimination... I respect women and I believe they should be treated equally... Fight for your right girl...
Are you sure you're not confusing correlation with causation? Did you negotiate your salary, or accept what was offered? Did you ever ask for a raise? And do you put in the same hours? Think carefully before you just assume such things.
I'm not saying you aren't correct, but consider the fact that your coworker could have seniority on you and therefor would be paid higher.
Ok. Find her pay scale for her years there and compare to the males of the same tenure and the same work ethic, eligible for the same raises. I started my current job at $12.50, broke my neck sneezing too hard, was gone for months recovering from major surgery due to a spinal cord injury, and was offered the same promotion ($13.55) at the same pay as a male coworker that didn't have all these issues. We were both $13.05 before the promotion, promoted at the same rates.
So you expect to be rewarded more for getting paid (or unpaid) leave than the guy who actually worked and demonstrated his abilities at the job?
It makes me horrible sad that, in this day and age, this kind of things is still prevalent. People like to bitch about feminism, but this, ladies and gentlemen, is why we need feminism. Because we're still fighting for equality. Equal pay for equal work.
Except feminism usually isn't about getting equal rights in the work place, it's about bitching about how women aren't the dominant gender
take your employer to court about it

I think you should do 15 percent less work from now on
And you've talked to your boss about this?
