Today, I found out that just because you collapse from dehydration on the sidewalk, it doesn't mean people are going to stop driving to see if you're okay, even if they saw you fall. FML

I did that in a store once. No one rushed forward because they didn't know what to do =| Luckily my sister and brother in law were there to haul me out to the car. Then I got a lecture from the triage nurse in emergency about how even if I was "worried about gaining weight" I still had to eat and drink, and that maybe I "should see someone" (which totally wasn't the case) I hope you're okay though, it's not much fun collapsing =S

To be honest, America really does live up to its stereotypes. I'm sorry that people weren't kind enough to stop and make sure you were okay. At least you're alive and well.

Oh, don't blame it on America. The bystander effect happens everywhere. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect

Of course America is being blamed. Stop making America the scapegoat.

Not all people are ignorant. I helped a man who had a heart attack and an epilepsy fit on the street. :) but fyl though.

You looked like a hobo passing out drunk! They thought if they stopped to help you, you'd bum-rush them and hit them up for spare change. Stop being a tramp.

YDI. Keep yourself hydrated, it's something you learn as a baby and it's REALLY hard to unlearn that survival skill.

A lot of places are hotter than they should be at this time, considering the global climate shift. He may have had water earlier and not expected it to be so hot out.

I love how your excuse for the situation includes global climate changes being the reasoning that places are "hotter". Where I live was only 70 degrees yesterday at 10 o'clock a.m.. Normally at that time in August it is already 80 degrees. There was not enough wind to blame such a change in temperature on wind chill. So my point is, these "climate changes" sure aren't doing a good job at warming up where I live. It was actually hotter here last summer than it is this summer. Can you still explain that with global climate changes that are supposedly making places hotter?

Bystander effect. It sucks. At least you're not Kitty Genovese, who no one helped even though a guy was stabbing her! Honestly, I might not have stopped either, depending on where I was going and how safe it was to stop, but I would have called 911 for you no matter what. Also, if you're in Texas, you should know to carry bottled water with you and drink it when you go out. Those temperatures are not to be trifled with! This is definitely still an FYL, though.

wah wah wah. if you were getting stabbed to death on the sidewalk while passersby ignored you this would be an FML. drink some water. i think you'll be alright.
