Today, I found out that just because you express mail something, it doesn't mean the post office won't still lose it. What did they lose? My signed marriage license. We spent all that time and money to get married on the day of our choosing, and our marriage isn't even valid. FML

Thank you for your kind words. People don't understand that we did everything to get it there on time and backed it up with express mail which is overnight delivery to ensure or very important document was received on time. The sad thing is, those employed at the post office just don't care.

That's really bad. I feel for you. Post offices aren't reliable like they were at one point I guess.

You should definitely file a complaint I'm sorry that your big day got ruined by a technicality

This is why certified/registered mail exists. Well, part of why, anyway. Express mail guarantees faster delivery, not more secure delivery. That's not to say they should be losing ANY mail, mind you, but there are no special extra security measures for express mail. You pay for reduced shipping time. That's all.

I understand you the same thing goes for my 1st clothing order from modcloth

Nice to hear that eventually, things worked out. You are now married, both spiritually and legally, to the person of your choice, in the ceremony you'd planned. I think that once some time has passed, both of you will be able to look back on this and -- if not laugh, at least not be upset by it. May this be the worst problem you'll ever encounter in your marriage. Oh, and thanks for coming back here to reply, Mrs. newlastname!

Your better off this way, it's cheaper than a divorce!

My parents spent minimal money on thee wedding. Hell, my dad went to the wedding wearing a polo shirt and Vans. Just saying, you don't HAVE to be extravagant.

Who the **** cares? Do you really need a piece of paper to love each other? The important thing is that you married in the time & place you wanted. Whatever date the government eventually records for your marriage is unimportant.

Where I work I ask customers to mail titles thru fed ex or ups and they continue to send thru USPS "certified" or priority or return receipt. I don't think I've seen one make it on the expected delivery date. Not to mention the others that never make it at all.

i think you can sue for that idk, but yeah sorry man FYL
