Today, I found out that my fiancé's parents are refusing to pay for a honeymoon, because they "didn't have one, so neither will we", meaning they won't pay for a single thing for our wedding. FML

Why don't you save and pay for it yourselves? That IS an option, you kno.

Agreed with the previous postings. Honestly, if you're old enough to be getting married, then you should be able to afford to pay for the wedding and the honeymoon. If you can't afford it, then you need to figure something out. It's not the parents responsibility, it's yours. YDI for not planning ahead.

Then pay for it yourself you free-loading bitch.

It does suck, but you can't just expect them to pay for it. Freeloader

If you think your responsible and mature enough to get married then you should be financially set to pay for your own wedding and honeymoon. Damn lazy people!

Since when is it the parents responsibility to pay for their child's honeymoon?! You are extremely spoiled if you think that is their job! It's nice when parents choose to contribute to weddings, but they are certainly not obligated to do so and for damn sure not for a honeymoon! If you're old enough to get married, you should have figured this out by now and take the responsibility to save up! Start now! YDI!

Boo ******* woo. I paid for my wedding with no help baby

How about paying for your own damn honeymoon

You marry. You pay. But it would be nice if they helped, just don't expect them to.

what's your point? why should they pay for any part of your wedding?

Well usually the parents help a bit, for my mom she didn't want my grandparents helping, they wouldn't take no for an answer. In some cases, it is ok for the parents to chip in a bit, but a honeymoon?? Usually it's something little like the cake or appetizers, not something drastically expensive.
