Today, I found out that my mom isn't coming to see me for Christmas. Instead she'll be spending it in jail for a DUI and battery. Thank you to my cocklick of an aunt for taking a recovering alcoholic to a bar and pressuring her into relapse. FML

Wow, your aunt is awful. FYI, OP. It's bad enough that your mom relapsed, worse that's she's gotten into trouble as well. But that it's happened on Christmas--I'd be upset at the very least. I hope you're still able to enjoy your holiday.

Hopefully the holiday spent in jail will wake her up and make her more determined not to relapse again. Dealing with addiction is tough and it can sometimes take something like this to keep the person on track for good.
