Ouch. I had a hamster that escaped his cage once when I was little. I was crying for weeks... then cried more once I found him behind the play-house :| Though I'll admit, sometimes I have had a really awful smell in my house (nothing dead yet), lost something that rots/decomposes, and not been able to locate the source for good while.
...taking this a little personally, 27?
lmao I like the way this one's written out. Just sounds so tragic and crazy. I was open mouthed in shock for about 5 seconds, then I lol'ed
#6, this also happened to my family. We had six of them. We also had a cat. He was able to knock the cage off a desk in our boys bedroom. We found all but one of them. We figured that the cat got it and went outside with it. Later on there was a very bad smell in the room. The smell would come and go for months. We could not find the reason for the smell. So time to paint the walls in the room. I move the desk that is right up against the wall, away from the wall, so I could paint it. There was the missing gerbil totally dried up and smashed flat against the wall and desk. I had to rip and peel it off the wall. The smell, oh, the smell.

And you never wondered where it went..?
gerbil + cage = good
