Today, I found out that the little arrow next to my gas gauge actually points to the side of the car where the tank is. For the past year-and-a-half I've been sticking my head out the window and even calling my parents to ask which side it was on, because I can never remember. FML

Just about every single one of my friends and family had this problem. I have no idea why I'm the only one that noticed the arrow or remembered it but I must have told my friends 100s of times to look at the arrow. At least you'll remember now.

Thats ridiculous it take a couple times a filling up Yeh tank in a new car to remember which side it's on. Either you don't drive that much or you have a terrible memory.
