take it & put it in a safe & make him "work it off" & get a job if he's old enough & make sure his check gets DIRECT deposited into your account...also either change the password or delete the iTunes account he uses YOUR card # to purchase apps with...also u could do a RESET & delete on the iPod, create a new account & NOT put a bank card # in it forcing the use of pre-paid iTunes cards.
If your son is your enough to be sent to his room then he is too young to have an iPod in the first place. Sell the damn thing and make sure he pays the bill for anything left owing. Let him learn that his actions have consequences.
YDI! clearly you're the irresponsible one for letting your son have access to your credit card. Well done.
and you are selling the iPod along with any other gadgets of value to cover some of the cost, correct?
if he's still young enough to be "sent to his room," he's to young to be buying things on an ipod. ydi.
You're an idiot and deserve it. put the parental controls on it you pathetic excuse for a parent.

Well take his ipod and don't give him any money till the 600$ are paid off. Can parents not raise their children anymore, that's just sad.
your lucky he hasn't found the $999.99 apps yet
