Today, I found out why my doctor told me not to mix pain killers with alcohol when I was told that last night I tried to convince a group of teenage tourists that I was one of the nitwits from One Direction, and then got miffed when they laughed at me. FML

Actually, that's just you being a drunk idiot OP. The real reason your doc said not to mix those is because certain pain killers have a suppressive effect on the respiratory system (the one we use to breath..) alcohol has this same effect on the same system in the body.. Mixing them doesn't just cause drunken stupidity, it can actually cause death.

Why would you disregard your doctor's instructions? Mixing alcohol and painkillers can be fatal. Your doctor didn't tell you not to do it to prevent you from acting like a moron. He did it to prevent you from OD'ing and dying.
