To me it sounds like the OP's already had plenty of conversations with her ex about his playing habits, and this was the final straw. I love videogames, and I've played WoW myself, but it absolutely can consume some people, and it sounds like the OP's ex was playing far too much, to the detriment of their relationship. I've seen people who play all day and only stop to sleep and eat - they never go out, they never see friends who aren't in the game. I'm not surprised the OP gave him an ultimatum if this was the situation. Relationships take work and dedication, and it sounds like her ex was doing neither. It would be unreasonable to tell him to stop playing if he could balance it with his life with her, but given the context I don't think that's what happened.
