i agree that he's a complete asshole but why would you date anyone addicted to World of Warcraft anyway?!?!?!! The games just an ALTERNATE REALITY dorks retreat to cause its easier than the real world... it's rediculous and he's obviously not worth it if he cherishes a fake world over the real one and his girlfriend

Congratulations! You jumped to complete conclusions! WoW has gotten to a drastic state where people do become addicted and have real issues with it. People. Have. Died. Get off your mighty pedestal and try to understand lives of others. Sure, some may be dorks looking to dodge reality, but many are people who have lived lives with no recognition. I know of people who have become addicted to gaming because of the simple acceptance it brings. Its the same reason why some people join gangs. They feel like they belong, its a feeling that they like. What I imagine (and am probably wrong) is that the OP here brought up the issue and has been 'nagging' for the lack of a better term for him to stop. Being fed up, she landed the ultimatum. Her BF, obviously anal an pissed off at the time, said gtfo.

Why couldn't you have just talked it out like a respectful adult and asked if he could just cut back a little and you both could try to start a new hobby together. Just a suggestion but 5 years? obviously you've put in the time and effort into this relationship but now you've just made it a waste of time.

YDI for that ultimatum. play it with him, you might be surprised at what happens. my parents play together, my sisters and their husbands/boyfriends play together, my best friend and her husband play together, all with active sex lives (except my parents, i'm hoping to god. that's creepy.) and LIVES outside of WoW. like jobs and college and friends. srsly. just because someone plays WoW, it doesn't mean they're some old fat virgin living in their mom's basement and haven't seen sunlight in the years since the game came out. stereotyping FTL. /thumbs down.

I didn't play WoW until i started dating my GF. I'm glad I did. we hang out in game when she's outta town. it isn't the same but it's better than nothing. Women who give ultimatums are disapointing.

I seriously -love- the fact that all the comments even slightly knocking WoW are buried due to so many negative votes. Half the comment posters here are probably playing WoW on their PCs while FML'ing on their phones at this very moment.
