Today, I got a job at a casino where I was actually planning on spending my 21st birthday next month. After they hired me, they told me no employees are allowed to play or gamble on or off the clock, for as long as they are employed there, or termination will immediately follow. FML

Congratulations on the job! I know it sucks that you can't gamble there anymore, but think about it this way - you've scored yourself consistent employment and are saving yourself from blowing all of your money. Is there another casino near that one where you can celebrate by any chance?

Be happy you don't live in Pennsylvania. My mother works at a casino in town and she isn't allowed to gamble at any casino in the entire state.

Ohio has more than one casino. I'm sure you can find one where you can spend your birthday. :)

I worked at a casino for four years as a manager and started off on the graveyard shift. I can honestly say it was a wonderful job and I hope you love it. Just make sure you use some backbone when you need to and don't let unruly customers ruin your night.

at my casino, it depends on department you are employed in. I can gamble all I want, just as long as I don't use the players card and no alcohol on the floor. only in the restaurants.

I know the feeling. I work for the Maryland Lottery, and we can't do any type of gambling in the entire state. This includes but is not limited to: casinos, mega millions, powerball, even scratch offs.

Why would you spend your birthday in a casino!?

Good grief. go to another casino. this hardly seems fml worthy
