Today, I got a job selling knives. I had training for 11 hours. At the end of the training session, the instructor promptly informed everyone that they had to pay $145 for a set of demo knives. I paid the $145. I went home and learned that it was a scam. I went back for a refund. They said no. FML

Yeah, this is Vector. I definitely worked for them. I did make money, and it's not a scam. But I really, really didn't like it there.

let me guess.. vector marketing?? yeahhhhhhhhh it's a freaking scam. i almost did it one time, and then searched it and realized it was shit. they target students and shit.. people desperate for quick, easy, money. i know so many people that have gotten sucked in. next time, make sure to do your research before hand.. if it sounds too good to be true.. IT IS!!

You sat there for 11 hours?? And you didn't even thought it could be a scam? Hahaha!! YDI Take a picture of these people a go to the police and say it was a scam. Maybe you get your money back.

I just recently got that job as well and i made just under $300 bucks after working for 6 hours with them. And you can get your money back you just need to send the knives they gave you back. And if it was a real scam this wouldnt be an fml because you would be sueing them and making big bucks

It is a scam but legally you can't sue them because they SOLD you the knives legitamately. Ideally, the only way you could make the $15/hr would probably be to setup these demonstrations and ring in 3 to 5 gullible students desperate for quick cash and sell it to them. Sure, one or two of them may walk out at the end but as long as you rope in one or two after the 10 hour "training" session then you've made about $150 to $300 for 10 hours of work = $15/hr to $30/hr.

i sat through that "interview" about a year ago... they kept us in a room for a 3 hour long sales pitch and wanted $200 for the knife set. the place and the deal seemed too sketchy for me, so i walked out on it... i'm glad i did... sorry it wasn't a legit job for you!!!

do you not understand what a scam is #64?? they have big lawyers sit there and cover all their bases legally and then **** the employees as much as they can without breaking the law, therefore suing would do nothing... you either work for them, or are completely retarded!!

haha. I had an interview with them last week. and when I found out I had to pay that much money to work, I was like hell no. I was supposed to have training this week, but I decided not to go. But I will admit the cutco knives are pretty rad. My mother's friend has a set.
