Today, I got a text from a number I didn’t recognize that said, "I miss you." Assuming it was my mom and her new phone, I replied, "Miss you too, love you!" Turns out it was my new boss, checking to see if I’d be able to work an extra shift. Even though it was her text that was badly worded, I'm now known as the person who declared her love to the boss. FML

Dude. Don't jump to conclusions! She's your wife. I'm assuming she'd be aware of it if you changed your number... My boyfriend and I joke around like that any time we get a new phone number. It doesn't necessarily mean she's cheating.

we do the same but it's a little strange to ask "did you get a new #". he prob didn't tell her that he was changing numbers with the purpose of playing this joke on her and it back fired. hopefully I'm wrong but that also depends if they play around like that as well.

Try texting her a bit more. She could be messing with you and even so its more info about it. It sucks with that op. But look at it this way. One you know is bad of the bunch. Theres always gonna be someone better, its just the fact of if they were loyal enough to stay.

That's presumptuous as hell because it could also be that she assumed the new number was him and decided to play along. I find it hard to believe that a woman who was actually cheating wouldn't wait to find out who was texting her before responding like that.
