Today, I got a parking ticket. I put the ticket in my bag and accidentally left the bag in my friends car. When I returned, the car window was smashed, my bag was gone. I had to call the police department and ask them to send me a new ticket, on top of the $1000 or so I'd already lost. FML

Agree with 22- 14, that's absurd. I seriously doubt OP had $1000 in cash... if bag means backpack, it could have been his laptop and phone, or something. That sucks though. I usually try to hide my bag, but if you forgot about it, that sucks.

#27: ...to get things without paying? And #5 just because they have a car doesn't mean they drive it all the time. If the op and a friend were going to the same place would they have to drive seperately?

#3: Who said the $1000 was in cash? A phone plus a nice outfit plus an ipod plus maybe one or two other things is already over $1000. Perfectly reasonable to have that much stuff in a bag, although mildly YDI (and I do mean mildly, because frankly nobody ever deserves to have their car window smashed and car looted) for leaving it on the seat.
